Inside the fortress, they found the blueprints but encountered an ambush by Imperial guards and Krennic. In the battle, Cassian injured Krennic, yet they found themselves with no way out and embraced by the seaside as the destruction loomed. The Rogue One team made the ultimate sacrifice, successfully destroying an Imperial destroyer and allowing the Rebellion to acquire the transmitted blueprints. However, as they prepared to escape the system, Darth Vader led an assault, annihilating most of the fleet, though a few ships managed to escape the system.
