  • 🚢Authorized and designed by count_of_brick.
  • 🚢Model Description: Designed and authorized by count_of_brick, this product takes inspiration from the WWII German naval cruiser, Mainz. The model faithfully recreates the fine details and design of the original ship. The Mainz’s main artillery is composed of twelve single-mounted, rapid-fire, 5-caliber cannons. Two cannons are positioned side by side at the foredeck, eight are arranged midship with four on each side, and two are placed side by side on the aft.
  • 🚢Background: The SMS Mainz, named after the city of Mainz in Hesse-Darmstadt, was the second vessel in the Kolberg-class of light cruisers built by the German Empire in the early 20th century. After being commissioned, the Mainz joined the Second Scouting Group, a reconnaissance unit of the High Seas Fleet. When World War I began in early August 1914, it was deployed to patrol the waters around Heligoland.
