- 🚢Model Description: Designed and licensed by count_of_brick, this model is inspired by the WWII German Navy’s Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser. The set replicates intricate details, including eight primary artillery pieces, four dual turrets, and four triple missile launchers, with space for a seaplane.
- 🚢Background: The Admiral Hipper was the lead ship of the Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruisers, serving the Nazi German Navy during WWII. Built at Hamburg's Blohm & Voss shipyard, it was launched in February 1937 and commissioned in April 1939, just before the war. Named after Admiral Franz von Hipper, who commanded the battlecruiser fleet during the Battle of Jutland, the Admiral Hipper was active in various operations, notably in the Atlantic campaign. It was dismantled between 1948 and 1952, and its bell is now on display at the Laboe Naval Memorial near Kiel.
